Not another limited world
I really hope that Nightfall isn't as limited as Factions, I didn't like the fact that you had to do a quest to go everywhere. I enjoyed the Tyrian map a lot more.

I agree. There have been a lot of complaints about that with Factions so perhaps ANet made Elona more like Tyria.

im almost 100% sure it isnt a limited world since nightfall is made by the same guys who made prophecies not the stupid guys that made factions

Runners ruin the game, I hope they map is just like the Cantha map where you have to actually do quests to get places.

For me, it is not about running, it is about exploration. I like to take my characters out and explore the map and see where it leads me. Nothing was more irritating that to fight through an area, find a town and think, "great, I can go in there, see what it has, and remove my DP." Only to find a big gate and an NPC that tells me that I need to do "X" mission or quest before I am allowed to enter. Factions severly limited exploration, both by being rather small and by putting up roadblocks.

I find that it is more of an issue with subsequent characters. If elona absolutely MUST have the roadblock set-up, i'd want it to be account unlockable so that i can freakin' get places. On a side note, probably part of the reason is the last two missions are so close to Kaineng, so they wanted to make it so you couldn't just hop over there and miss everything.
Anyway, I do hope elona is of the same style as Tyria. I would like some nice big open areas with amazing views. I like Factions, but it can get to feeling stuffy at times.
I also want a prot monk much earlier than when they give us one in Factions...

I'm really happy about the fact that it's being made by the same guys who did prophecies. Factions was a real let-down compared to Prophecies, and so I hope that Nightfall will be a PvE game, not PvE like factions

QFT
Factions was way too short, and the disabling of being ran just made it worse.

Well if its so short what is the problem?
I think that if more people where forced to play the game we might get better pugs...
Tired of people being level 20 monks, 4rd character through the mission running bane signet and orison because thats all they have unlocked, because they didn't want to play the 4th character through the game, they just wanted it run to missions and towns.

To me those road blocks are a double-edged sword. Of course there are benefits that I wouldn't want to miss, but they also are a major annoyance. I think forcing players to progress with the story before they can move to new areas is a good thing (by the way, I am currently on taking my 8th character through the game, so don't come to me with the boredom of doing the same quests and missions over and over). But it could and should be done in a less restrictive way. For example by only instating total blocks after each region but allowing players to enter all the towns and outposts within their current region (i.e. you can't leave Kaineng City before you're finished there, but can move freely within it). And of course hinder players from doing mission #4 before they finished mission #3.

Well if Nightfalls r anything like Factions i know few ppl , me included, who wont be buying it or an other Faction clone. I was really dissapointed with Factions with so many useles and stupid quests ( what use do I have with XP quests after i already have XX unused skill points ).
I dont want to be forced to do anything i dont want to.. If there will be other sneaky "forced" type of gameplay I ll say goodbye.

Aren't you contradicting yourself? Using roadblocks to force you to experience the content in a linear fashion is a common design tool used to lengthen total game hours.
...You're welcome to dislike that playstyle, of course, but the anti-runner measures ultimately made the game (in terms of play time) 'longer', not 'shorter'.

Having to do the same retarded missions over and over when I've done them 12 times ruins the game. Especially with classes like my assassin and mesmer wheres the fun when I can't even get past the mission when I've done it plenty of times and I'm stuck until a guildie can help me. Sorry but the closed door idea was the lamest idea ever. I can understand having them in certain parts but why should I have to do a quest to explore an area?

I said to myself after Factions release that I will not buy the next chapter unless I'm 100% sure that there are no locked gates.
Yeah runners ruined the game because we all know that in Cantha there are no bad players whatsoever...

I think you can take the Canthans monsters anti-run measures (stuff like Weaken Knees, Stance Removal, Snare Traps, Knockdowns), do without the blocked gates which required certain quests to be active and still be solid against anti-running.
Because some people are forgetting that it's not the fact that we can't run through Factions on our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.. character, it's the fact that you can't explore or fight your way through the game. I understand Anets problem, because they probably didn't want Ascalon-to-Sanctum runs or Beacons-to-Droknars runs to be around, but I think they put their foot down too harshly and caught exploring as collateral damage.
